At Team Bullock, nothing matters more to us that being able to support the communities we live and work in and the people like you that a part of them. This can take on many formats, from being good corporate citizens to supporting various charitable organizations and events in our area.
The spring represents an important time of year for us, and not merely because it’s the most vibrant period in the real estate market. It also represents a new start for the many trees, plants and shrubs that grace our yards and forests. This time of year also coincides with a number of community events that are near and dear to our hearts and that we’re very involved with.
We therefore thought it would helpful for our readers if we highlighted these events and shared some valuable information with you about them in case you might be interested in coming out to enjoy them, or perhaps to support them in some way.
1) Jane’s Walk – Saturday May 6th from 10:30am to noon
These annual walks were inspired by Jane Jacobs, a community activist, writer and urban thinker who wanted to encourage people to gain a greater appreciation for the communities they live in. This year’s Aldershot walk, which Leslie will again help lead, will start at the Woodland Cemetery at 885 Spring Gardens Road and end at The Valley Inn. You can register for this walk on our Facebook page. To learn more about the history behind Jane’s Walk, please read our blog from two years ago.
2) Yard Sale for the Cure – Saturday May 27th from 7am to noon
We have been supporters of this annual yard sale since its inception in 2005 by founder Rachael Smith, herself a breast cancer survivor. This first sale took place in her Toronto Beaches community accompanied by family and friends. We are encouraging people to hold their own yard sale and register it online at yardsaleforthecure.com. Let us know and we will happy to promote it for you to our list of clients and contacts! Leslie will also be holding her own yard sale at her home at 627 Bayshore Blvd. in Burlington. She is accepting the donation of items for sale but only has limited space for storage. So come by on the 27th to shop for yourself.
