With fall now upon us, we can look forward to cooler days, even cooler nights, lots of colour everywhere and of course pumpkins galore! Thankfully, there is so much more to explore, enjoy and even taste in Burlington and throughout Halton this season. And with the Halton Pumpkins to Pastries Trail, all these experiences are brought together for us.

Running from September 12th through to October 31st, the Halton Pumpkins to Pastries Trail is much more than just pumpkins and baked goods. It’s about celebrating the diverse beauty of Halton Region, enjoying the farms and farmer’s markets that bring us much of the fresh produce we sometimes take for granted and relishing in our restaurants and seasonal events. The whole family is bound to find something to their liking.

Indeed, with close to forty different destinations on the Halton Pumpkins to Pastries Trail, you could literally spend the entire seven week period visiting each one and discovering what makes them unique. And don’t forget to check out the various Fall Events and Attractions in the area with a diverse selection of things to see and do.

Why not enter a contest!

What would a month plus long festival be like without a social media contest, right? The Pumpkins to Pastries Trail has included a ‘selfies contest’ as part of this large campaign. Simply take a selfie of yourself and post it to Twitter, Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #p2ptrail and you can win a prize basket of local goodies.

Contestants must be at 18 years of age and you have to be at one of the locations noted on the trail map when you take your selfie. There will be six weekly prizes awarded and your picture might even be profiled in their gallery. The contest runs until Sunday October 30th.  For more information, check out the full contest rules.

Take a hike… through Royal Botanical Gardens

The Halton Pumpkins to Pastries Trail is the perfect excuse to get the whole family out of the house and enjoy all that Halton Region has to offer, not to mention the beautiful weather and scenery that comes at this time of the year.

There is no better place to take in Mother Nature at this picturesque time of the year than Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) in Aldershot (west Burlington). This beautiful oasis of nature, plants and so much more is the ideal spot to take in the fall colours while going on a beautiful walk around its grounds. Be prepared to have your breath taken away!

So there you have it. The Pumpkins to Pastries Trail is bound to be another hit again this year and to provide residents and visitors to Halton with an unforgettable experience. Just be sure to bring your appetite and your curiosity with you as go about discovering some of the very unique spots in our region. Happy travels!
